Hole mounts (through PCB)
Mounting components through a hole on the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) is very commonly used because of its simplicity and durability. However, each PCB can only contain one circuitry because only one side of the board can be used.
Procedure
Insert the component into the PCB.

The back side with exposed copper is where all the soldering is taking place.

Touch the leg of the component with soldering iron for 1-2 seconds to pre-heat, when both the leg and PCB gets hot enough, apply solder. It should flow nicely around the leg and creat a seal. Lift the lip of the soldering iron along the legs, this helps spreading excessive solder and creating a strong joint.

Cut the extra leg off, it's that simple. A good solder looks like a hill or up-side-down V shape.
